PLAY ON WORDS - ELEMENTARY LITERACY GAMES FOR BUILDING VOCABULARY AND MORE!
WHO SHOULD ATTEND - Elementary Literacy teacher, Literacy coaches/consultants, Title 1, ELL and family engagement coordinators
PRESENTED BY BOX CARS AND ONE-EYED JACKS AUTHOR JANE FELLING
NO FOOLING! We do literacy games as well as math. Come prepared to play and learn our favorite games that help your students work on the following concepts: learning the alphabet and its' sounds, working with rhyme, CVC patterns, vocabulary building, working with multi-syllable words, vowels and advanced phonemes and more. Box Cars does have a wide range of literacy manipulatives (literacy dice, tiles and cards) but throughout the workshop ideas for adapting the games will be shared. Games are easy to differentiate, can be used whole class, small groups or in centers. The activities are great for working with ELL students and families.
HANDOUT WILL CONTAIN GAMES, GAMEBOARDS AND JOURNAL MASTERS. The PDF handout (which includes the ZOOM meeting link) will be made available for you to download after your transaction has been processed. We will also email the PDF to you directly.
PLEASE BRING REGULAR SPOTTED DICE, PAPER, PENCIL AND PREPARE BY CUTTING OUT THE LETTER TILES AND WORD DECK MASTERS CONTAINED IN THE HANDOUT.
