Come play and learn the best math games for developing a X-Graded math games program. This is a great time of the year to be planning this powerful strategy. Come with a teaching partner from your school, ideally from another grade, and learn how to organize, plan and execute a weekly math games class with math buddies!
You will receive a packet of games for both primary and upper elementary that integrate cards and dice, are easy to differentiate and are our student's favorites. Upper Elementary students benefit in teaching younger students - they often need a refresh on early concepts, and teaching them to their buddies builds repetition and practice to rebuild the gaps. They also develop leadership skills.
Younger students benefit from 1 on 1 instruction, and also develop a sense of math community with older grade students!
I know it benefits teachers too! - Opening your doors and working with colleagues from other grades bands builds support, and an appreciation of other challenges colleagues have at their level. The opportunity to learn with, and from colleagues throughout the year really makes a difference.
